I don't read or watch the news too much because it is usually depressing and from this state one can't make the world a better place. However, this story caught my eye. A bus driver was taking bus full of commuters home after a day at work. She stopped the bus because there was a frog on the road and she didn't want to run the poor fellow over. So she got out, put the frog to the side of the road and then carried on. Some of the passengers weren't happy and complained to the bus company, which sacked the driver. The media picked up the story, there was a public outcry and the driver was given back her job. She did have to promise not to do it again. I am not here to tell you what to think. I will simply report and let you draw your own moral from this story.
Life is great when you take the time to save a life.

Indeed life is great when you take the time to save a life!
Muzzle says "Good for her!" She can't believe people complained because she stopped and that she was then sacked.
Crazy when you are sacked for stopping to help an animal. We are glad she has her job back.

I would have moved the frog.
During Spring, where I live, the box turtles come out in search of water. I'm always getting out and moving them across the road and closer their destination. One year there was an old turtle -- he was huge! I put him in the car and drove him to the nearest pond a few blocks away), which was where he was heading.
Hi Ruby Isabella
Mom says she would have stopped too. That frog could have been a prince.
Love Ruby & Penny
WOW...what a woman! She should be given a raise not fired or reprimanded!! :)
Good on you all for being right thinking on this one. Well done Steph for giving the turtle a lift. The poor fellows are so slow on land, I bet he appreciated it.
(from Hsin-Yi) I think it is really sad that so many humans are so impatient and don't "lighten up" a bit or remember that they share the Earth with other creatures and that they should show a bit of consideration and tolerance, even if it causes them a little bit of inconvenience! How awful that those people didn't have compassion for a living thing and care about it being killed - it's different if she was stopping the bus to get a snack for herself or some other non-essential thing but to save another living thing...! Really, it makes you despair of people.
(from Honey): What's a frog?

Wow I think she should have been rewarded for her actions not sacked, thanks for putting up that great story, I'm so glad she got her job back. And nice photo, Lily also loves to share a bed and loves a pillow for her head.
Guess what Ruby....in my Mom's Kindergarten class they are learning about frogs right now and they even have some tadpole visitors that will be staying for a short time. Well, Mom read them a story about a frog crossing the road the other day and she told them of the wonderful bus driver who stopped to help a frog in real life! :)
Nala
The first and the last parts of this story make me very happy, Ruby Isabella. I hope I would have had the courage to do the same thing.
Hey Ruby....long time no woof! We love Ruby and Penny's comment :D
We just 'hopped' over to say Happy Anzac Day!
And have a great weekend :o)
Slobbers xx
Thanks everybody!
Why should a frog's life be any less valuable than a dog's or a human's? I applaud the bus driver's actions!
She is a hero in my eyes :). Wish there were more souls like her around. The world would be a much better place to live in then.
Hallelujah!
Wow....
I do think she will do it again.
I would have save the frog as well.
How can people run the frog over?
..
She did really good!
