Enjoy Yourself

Hello, it is High Priestess Ruby Isabella with the word of Dog. Today's first reading comes from the book of Carol of Black Jack.

"Dogs have a way of figuring out what they like, and then enjoying it to the utmost."

The second reading is in the book of Steph, in which she quotes Anthony Bourdain.

"When you let pleasure control your life and not your life control pleasure, you'll find great passion."

People often think, "I shouldn't be doing this," "I should be doing good for someone else," "if I am enjoying myself, I mustn't be productive or doing good," "what will other people think." Some people think it's character building to be miserable. A happy animal (human, dog or other) will be spreading goodness wherever she goes. So I say, go forth and enjoy yourself.

This is the word of Dog.

Adogs.

Life is great when you figure out what you like and enjoy it to the utmost.

Dogs are our friends. But this looks too ferocious dogs, and I saw a little bit afraid. (Laughter)

OMG you're the High Priestess?? I had no idea. And I apologize for any familiarity that is beyond my station.

I think we need to arrange a marriage with the High Priest of Doggy Blogging, Sir Henry.

I'm guilty of this: "if I am enjoying myself, I mustn't be productive or doing good". Lately, Ive been enjoying myself immensely doing....nothing...simply nothing. But time and again, I would feel guilty when I look around cus so many souls are busy participating in the rat chase while Im just idling my time away. Thanks for letting me know that its ok to have a well deserved 'me' time without feeling guilty :)

When everyone is doing something and you don't, it is easy to feel you are doing something wrong. I recommend turning this on its head. If you are doing the opposite to the crowd, it probably means you are on the right track. If you are following the herd, then carefully question your own actions.

Good on you for enjoying doing nothing.

That's nice. It's a celebration of life itself.

Well, High Priestess, Ruby Isabella, I'm honored to be quoted in your word of Dog. I enjoyed Steph's second reading, and all the comments here as well. I've always noticed that dogs make me happy, and now I understand why. You guys spread happiness wherever you go, and we humans catch it!

I believe it was T.S Eliot (though some attribute it to John Lennon) who once said "Time you enjoyed wasting is not wasted time."

Dogs seem to figure out what they like pretty quickly and enjoy it to the utmost; us humans are much slower learners and some never learn that lesson at all.

I spend my whole life enjoying what I'm doing - Muzzle says that's the beauty of being a dog in a good home :)

I think my enthusiasm for life rubs off on others too, I know I make Muzzle very happy.

She says she's much better at not feeling guilty for enjoying herself than she used to be.
