A Walk in the Woods

I went for a walk in the woods today. Tim didn't take his camera so you will have to imagine them. They look nothing like these woods which Minnie-Moo was in. We are in Australia so they were full of gum (eucalyptus) trees. The important thing is that we were surrounded by trees which has a magical effect. I could sense Tim relax and become energised as the walk went on as I did. By the end of the walk I could feel communication was easy between us. We had a go at the obstacle course in the dog park, which was fun. It was easy to know what Tim wanted.

Here is the advice of Elizabeth Marshall Thomas in The Social Lives of Dogs to humans about training dogs, "My second suggestion would be to relax. Dogs are extremely sensitive to human tension, especially when they themselves are the cause." I think this is great advice for relationships between all beings.

Life is great when you go for a walk in the woods.

I love to walk among trees. They really are comforting.

P.S. Thanks for the mention!

Great advice, not always easy to follow though!

You are so right Ruby, you just can't beat that feeling of all your cares drifting away into the branches!
Do you see Koalas in the Gum trees? Do they smell like squirls?

Hello Ruby Isabella Jones,

I continue to enjoy your blogs. That one about being unable to lie was so true, and the one about humans being intelligent was also fascinating. Yesterday, I took a woods walk, and when I returned home, saw your most recent entry. That inspired today's blog, and will make me think of you as we go for another woods walk.

JC- No worries.
Lee- That's why it is much more fun giving advice than following it.
DB- No, it is rare to spot a koala. We see lots of birds, including Kookaburras and hear their laugh, Brush Turkeys and occasionally Goannas.
BJC- Glad you are enjoying the blogs.

Trees are wonderful aren't they? They make Muzzle feel relaxed and energised too - and my brothers like to pee up them ;-)

Would Tim take his camera next time so we can see how different your woods are from ours? Pretty please :-)

He is pretty slack with the camera but I'll do my best to encourage him.
